Ronald Stilting

A life-long fascination with organizing things and a passion to make a difference brought me to hospitality management in Africa. I am not the kind of person that is happy when he "ticks the boxes" every day but I work with passion, like a real challenge and always develop a vision, a "bigger picture".

After more than 20 years in Africa I have seen and done many projects, seen mistakes happen and prevented many, continuously developed myself and gradually developed a concept for successful hospitality in Africa.

My concept can ensure the future for independent hospitality business owners who are facing challenges and looking for a way forward.

Some facts:

Ronald Stilting......

• started washing dishes and clearing tables in a self-service restaurant at the age of 15.
• graduated 1983 at the the Hotel Management School Maastricht with a degree in Hospitality Management
• is active in Africa in hospitality management since 1998
• won the "General Manager of the Year 2019" award in Nigeria
• turned the ailing Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort (former LeMeridien) into a profitable, successful and awardwinning independent property.
• opened the largest hotel & Conference center in Liberia; The Farmington Hotel, and hosted the ECOWAS Summit there 4 weeks after opening, with 20+ heads of state (incl. Prime Minister Netanyahu)
• opened and managed RLJ Kendeja Resort; the first 5-star resort in Liberia
• has done a total of 8 pre-openings (6 in Africa) and several rebranding-/turnaround assignments
• has been awarded a chieftaincy in Uyo, Akwa Ibom: Chief Obong Uforo
• is a passionate photographer with a mission to show the beauty of Africa and its people to the world
• is born in Amersfoort, Netherlands, and has Dutch nationality
• is married since 1987 to Gitta Stilting and father of Ghanaian twins, Chera and Lisa.
